In this article we’ll take a look at a complete program that will help you build perfect six pack abs! Strangely enough there are many men (and women) who have no idea how to effectively work their entire ab region. If you can strategically and routinely workout the 4 major ab areas, you will be one step closer to six pack abs success! The abs consist of four core areas; the upper abs, the lower abs and the left and right oblique’s. There are a variety of workouts you can perform daily to effectively workout the abs.
The good news is that you don’t even need any special equipment to successfully perform six pack ab exercises! Forget about all those special gadgets you see advertised on late-night television- their just gimmicks! Gimmicks aimed at ripping off consumers into shelling over hard-earned cash for completely useless equipment! So the lesson learned here is to NOT buy into these type of products as they are a complete waste of time!
So how much sit ups a day is enough? 200 sit-ups 4-6 times a week is the daily recommended dosage. You can divide that into 50 regular crunches( with knees bent at 90 degrees), 50 leg raises and 50 oblique crunches(on each side). Perhaps the hardest area to efficiently workout are the lower abs. There are various exercises that target the lower ab region. Typical leg raises are the standard but if you really want to sculpt and tone this area, you can add some weight resistance to your legs while performing leg raises. You can do this with a 5 pound medicine ball between your legs during leg raises. This will help kick the resistance up a notch or two.
So how do you shrink your waistline? Perform the following exercise and you will start to see your waistline shrink in as little as one week! Hang onto bars with all your bodyweight. Then proceed to lifting your knees up to your chest. You can also turn from side to side simply while hanging on the bars, focusing all your energy from side to side. Not only will this work and tone your oblique’s but you’ll also literally shrink your waistline! If you do not have the convenience of bars to hang from you can also do this standing up.
Stand up straight and proceed to do “boxing” movements from one side of your body to the next. Focus on really turning your body as far left or right as you possibly can. This does the same effect for your oblique’s as well as helps shrink the waistline.
Alternately, for total ab training and for perfect six pack abs you can perform “bicycle” movements whilst laying on your back. You simply perform these simulated “bicycle” movements with your legs in the air for as long as you safely can. This is THE most effective ab exercise ever! It works all four major core areas in one simple, free exercise!
